Coworking space is a growing trend that is changing the way we work and live. We are creating a more sustainable future through a new work-life balance, inspired by the open source movement's participatory culture and the dynamic nature of technology domains. Coworking is proving to be one of the most suitable workplace alternatives for a wide range of enterprises, from freelancers to huge corporations. Coworking spaces have revolutionised the service business by providing a plethora of services and a community-driven ecosystem at low prices and with such flexibility. Despite the fact that each coworking space in Pakistan operates autonomously, we all agree that coworking has the same essential values that benefit individuals, businesses, and the communities in which they operate. Regular exchanges among local coworking spaces have gained traction in recent years, as has the number of spaces. There is a lot of skill; it just needs to come together. To transform the coworking culture, different surroundings must overlap, connect, and interact.
But why do we need a federation? This new economy will not be able to grow unless the bigger business, creative, entrepreneurial, governmental, non-governmental, and technical communities collaborate. Various variables would play a part in developing a trust-based community that would be led and represented by an association. The need of the hour for such an organisation would be to raise and promote awareness of the coworking industry in Pakistan while also accelerating trade development activities, enhancing talent supply, developing local infrastructure, forming partnerships, and driving operational excellence.
A federation of this type would be required to -
engage closely with the government at all levels to address common challenges and concerns, as well as provide resources for anyone interested in coworking possibilities in Pakistan Promote networking among Pakistani Coworking Communities across all language regions.
Rep the Pakistani Coworking Community in the international coworking community.
Organizing engaging local forums with visiting Pakistani delegations or industry leaders in order to develop commercial prospects.
Promote, Protect, and Collaborate among entities that provide services in coworking and co-working centres.
Carry out any additional activities and actions in defence of collaborative work as a team that is autonomous and independent.
The Federation will primarily promote coworking as a catalyst for connectivity, innovation, creativity, and business success, which will stimulate collaboration between spaces and collaboration among coworking users. It will serve as a one-stop shop for coworking information and will make it simple for coworking space owners to better administer their spaces in accordance with coworking values while reaching their commercial objectives.
According to a GCUC (Global Coworking Unconference Conference) report, "Coworking is a global phenomenon: coworking spaces are popping up in major cities all over the world. Asia/Pacific (which includes Pakistan in our work) has embraced coworking, with APAC now having the world's largest coworking market."
Many coworking spaces operate independently of one another while being friendly and collaborative. Formal partnerships with each like-minded space would be impossible to establish, necessitating the creation of a Coworking Federation of Pakistan to elegantly handle this by offering a method for any location interested in sharing to opt in.
